TheBenchmade 391SBK SOCP is a large tactical folder, designed for uniformed services and those looking for a reliable edc tool.
The knife was designed by Greg Thompson, creator of the S.O.C.P. program, a combat system used by US Army special units.
Versatile head
The slim blade with a symmetrical spear-point profile is coated with a layer of black Teflon, which protects against corrosion, minor scratches and emphasizes the tactical nature of the knife. To increase the functionality of the knife, the back of the cutting edge is serrated.
Thecombo blade is particularly useful when cutting hard and fibrous materials such as belts, ropes and webbing.
Thanks to the use of a strong hilt of a very gentle curvature of the edge and a flat grind, the blade cuts very smoothly and efficiently, and does not tend to wedge in the material.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Hard D2 tool steel
The 113 mm long blade is made of hard and durable D2 tool steel hardened to 60-62 HRC. D2 is the most corrosion-resistant carbon steel, which is characterized by high abrasion resistance, long maintenance of working sharpness and aggressive cutting.
When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
Convenient unfolding
To unfold the blade, there is a symmetrical disk located on the back of the blade, allowing right- and left-handed people to operate the knife. The size of the disk and its convenient location allow unfolding the blade with gloves.
Safety during operation
The knife uses the flagship lock of the Benchmade brand, i.e. the Axis-lock mechanism valued for its great resistance to dynamic loads, insensitivity to dirt and ease of use. The strength and rigidity of the knife's construction is ensured by solid steel liners of increased thickness.
Lightweight and durable liners
Theknife has contoured liners made of special CF-Elite (carbon fiber reinforced nylon), which is much lighter and stiffer than, for example, G10 laminate. The finger cutout and deep milling on the liners provide a stable grip on the knife, and impressively accentuate the tactical nature of the knife.
Discreetly carrying the knife in your pocket is made possible by ahigh-mounted clip that can be switched to the other side.
